Our House - Da Kitchen with Julia Child
What's in the fridge?

**
The movie 'Julie and Julia', causes me to recall the time when my college roommate, Carla, her boyfriend and I tried to cook our way thru the Betty Crocker Cookbook, that had been given to him for Christmas. We stopped after we all had gained about 10 pounds. My roommate had a pair of what she called her fat jeans, and if she put them on and could not zip them up, then it was back to eating salads, smoking Virginia Slims and drinking cans of Tab.
Back to Julia, I also recall that she seemed to be teetoddling the entire time during her cooking demonstrations. One episode she knocked over the bottle of Sherry, spilling way too much in the dish and she laughed it off, as she sipped from a small glass. At least that is how I remember it.
Who was it that said? "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put some in the food."

“Cajun lemonade” sounds delicious:
makes one drink
1 1/2 ounces white rum or vodka (I used vodka)
1 ounce Pimm’s No. 1
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 ounce simple syrup
2 dashes Tabasco or other hot sauce (I used Frank’s Red Hot)
splash of 7Up (set aside for topping up the drink)
lemon wheels (for garnish)
